REVIEW:

Even though I haven't seen the original films, I still understand the story. This really followed the story and was really good, but it just had something that I didn't enjoy; but I can't figure out what that is. Terminator Salvation opens up in the year 2003, before Judgement Day where we meet Marcus Wright, a death row inmate who is now in the Longview Correctional Facility. One day, he meets Dr Serena Kogan , a representative of Cyberdyne Systems. She is meeting with Marcus to talk about him donating his organs and tissue to what he believes is a good cause. He accepts and during the procedure he falls unconsious. Marcus wakes up 15 years later in the year 2018 to find a desolated downtown Los Angeles and a desert wilderness that was once the San Fransisco valley. He then meets a young girl named Star and a teenaged version of Kyle Reese. Marcus is then told the three of them are the only survivors in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, John Conner, the leader of the resistance against Skynet, the program that creates the terminators is investigating some old sound clips of his mother, Sarah Connor and finding weaknesses of Skynet. That's all I want to say for now, but just to quote, "This is John Connor and if you're listening to this, you are the resistance." This movie was really entertaining, but don't expect a movie all about Christian Bale's character, John Conner. I would say this was mostly about Marcus Wright, who is personally my favorite character. PLus, the setting and effects work perfectly with this film. I mean, this wasn't the best movie of the year but it's definately worth seeing in theaters. CAUTION: this movie is not for kids despite its PG-13 rating and it's REALLY loud so bring ear plugs if you're smart.

Finally, a sequal that is really outstanding for the kids and adults of all ages. Night At The Museum 2 takes place a couple of years after the 1st one, where we find that Larry Daley owns his own company where he invents creative things. One day he visits the Museum Of Natural History, the place where he worked as a night guard in the first film where he sees that every exhibit but Teddy, The Easter Island etc. will be shipped to the underground storage of the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. Larry then spends on last night with the exhibits. Then the next night while Larry is with his son, he recieves a call from Jedadiah, a miniature cowboy from the museum tells him that Aukhmanrah, the pharaoh who created the tablet that makes the exhibits come to life has a brother and is trying to destroy him and the rest of the exhibits. Larry then goes to Washington D.C. to find out what's going on under the Smithsonian at night. This movie was a great experience for all ages and will be loved by audiances everywhere. But what made this movie so genuine was the story, cast, and humor. So, just go see this movie this Memorial Day weekend. Also, there are some people you will recgonize in this movie. (Look out for the flying churrubs)

REVIEW:

For anyone who loves movies or is indeed a Trekkie, Star Trek is anything a person can get out of a movie. This could also be by far the best movie of the year! This all starts out when George Kirk tells his wife (who's in labor) to go into an escape pod without him. A few seconds before George dies, a baby boy is born and they name it James Tiberious Kirk. Even as a child, James is a rebellious boy. When he's 22 years old, he ends up getting in a bar fight. After the fight, Kirk meets Christopher Pike, who is the captian of Starfleet Academy. Kirk then accepts an offer of going their to become a captain in three years. 3 years later, Kirk is accused of cheating on a challenging test designed by Spock. Because of this, Kirk is suspended on Earth until further notice. Then, Kirk's friend Leonard McCoy give him a series of shots to help him get onto the ship. That's all I can tell you right now since if I keep explaining, then you would probably end up on Wikipedia if you know what I mean. This film was a brilliant piece of art. Only a movie with real talent, special effects and positive feedback would beat this rollar coaster ride. What made this film so genuine was the story line. This kind of story will take you into a different world. Also, the casting was a great choice for J.J. Abrams and Paramount. Everyone was right to love this movie and give it positive feedback. Plus, this movie belongs in IMAX. If I was president of IMAX, I would move Night At The Museum 2 to a September IMAX release. In the words of Spock, "Live long and Prosper."

REVIEW:


This movie may have alot of special effects and awsome action, but it didn't quite live up to expectations. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is about the life and origin of James Howlett/Logan/Wolverine. In 1845, young James witnesses his father getting murdered by Victor Creed's father, Thomas Logan. James then grows boney claws out of his fists and ends up killing Thomas. In his last dying breath, Thomas says that he is his real father and Victor is his brother. Victor then runs into the woods with James saying they have to stick together. They then run away into a whole new adventure. After surviving the Civil War, both of the World Wars, and the Vietnam war, they meet General Stryker who says he's creating a special team of mutants. So, they join and meet people like Wade Wilson and John Wraith. After Victor attempts to kill an innocent person, Logan ditches the team and doesn't see them again for a while. 6 years later Logan has married Silver Fox, and is living a good life. One day, Stryker shows up and wants Logan to come back. Logan however, refuses saying he already has developed a new life and doesn't want to go back. Then the next day, Silver is driving on the road when Victor comes and kills Silver. To avenge his wife's death, Logan takes up Stryker's offer and becomes an indestructable mutant now calling himself Wolverine. This movie was terrific in special effects and action, but they just tried to make it the best movie possible. It was good at the beginning, but didn't have much value towards the end. Also, if you go see this movie, stay after the credits for a secret ending. CAUTION: you may see a ending involving either Wolverine or Deadpool (Wade Wilson) depending on which screen you're watching.
