PIXAR TOP 10: #10 Wall-E

My least favorite PIXAR film and one of my least favorite movies ever.. Pixar's attempt to make a world of robots and obese humans in space is kind of lame for me because the elements of sci fi and love in this movie don't work for me. You're probably surprised by this because Wall-E recieved an Oscar and universal acclaim. You're probably right, because these kind of movies aren't my type. But what I did like about this was the global warming aspect in the movie, and the litering involved at the beginning of the movie. But I would recommend for sci fi and PIXAR lovers out there.

REVIEW:

Two of NBC's funniest people finally come together in a knockout hilarious movie. Date Night is about Phil and Claire Foster, a happy New Jersey couple who every Friday they have a date, where they go see a movie and have dinner. But one Friday, Phil decides to make the night different by taking Claire to New York City for dinner. But when they can't get into this new restaurant, they steal another couples reservation under the name of "Tripplehorn." They have no idea what they were getting into as they are on the run from a couple of muggers that want something in return. All I can say is that this movie is laugh out loud funny!! The movie's stars Steve Carell and Tina Fey do a great job as a couple and should do other films together, besides action-comedies. What made the movie sparkle was all of the physicality of the characters and how they acted when they were in danger. But I would like to advise parents that this IS NOT a kids movie, mainly because of the vulgar language and this one scene involving a stripper's club, although part of the scene was mainly for laughs. Also, the movie had so many cameos that it was funny. And for all of those Mark Wahlberg fans out there, he SHIRTLESS throughout the movie!!! This is the perfect date night movie for all of the teens and adults out there who go to see it. So basically, if you enjoy NBC, comedy, and shirtless men with dashes of action, comedy, romance, and more comedy, then go and have yourself a Date Night. But hopefully it won't be like the couple's in this movie.

REVIEW:

This is the unofficial start of the popcorn summer flick season as Louis Letterer, who directed The Incredible Hulk takes us into the world where Greek gods exist and so do demi-gods. Clash Of The Titans is basically what it says in the title as Perseus, the son of Zeus must defeat Hades and all of the monsters in front of him. Perseus leads a group of brave soldiers through the depth of all of our imaginations worst fears involving the Greek god world, like the Underworld for example. This film was a spectacular popcorn flick that audiences will love to see. Although, you don't really have to see it in 3D, which it's also being released in. I saw this movie in regular 2D and to tell you the truth, it was just the same kind of experience as any other kind of fantasy flick: AWESOME. This film was pushed back a week just to convert this to 3D, but like I said, they really didn't need to. They only did it for the money. I also heard that if you saw it in 3D, the characters would look like cardboard cut-outs rather than looking three dimensional and having a better depth look. But enough of that, let's go onto the actors. Sam Worthington of Avatar fame is fresh out of the pot as Perseus, Zeus' son. As he does in every movie he's in, he is great and seems like he's having fun with his characters. I never saw the original Clash Of The Titans, but I will try to check it out after seeing this. Also, for those of you who aren't sure if this will live up to its hype, believe me it DOES. I would also like to point out that at my screening, parents brought their little 5 or 6 year olds to see this, but hear me when I say this: Kids WILL Get FREAKED OUT by this movie. I don't want to say why, but let's just say I have an "eye" for this kind of stuff. So, if you're looking for a great fantasy action flick filled with romance, suspense, and humor, then you'll want o check out the Clash Of The Titans. "I will surely try to see the difference in 3D and post back on it."

This movie felt like another version of Bedtime Stories, middle aged people raising little kids. Though the story and script are weak, the main thing that rises the film is its supporting and cameo roles. Old Dogs is about Dan and Charlie. Dan is a two time divorce and Charlie is just a player. One day, Dan sees his old wife for the first time in 7 years and gives Dan big news. He has twins. So Dan and Charlie, because Viki, Dan's ex wife is going to jail must take care of the kids for two weeks and learn to be better parents and better friends. This movie was okay. That's all I can say. Okay. What this movie lacked is the script and storyline. Walt Becker, who directed the insanley hilarious Wild Hogs makes little effort to make an enjoyable family film and only provide us with pointless jokes that 5 year olds would enjoy. The only good performance in this film is Bernie Mac's final performance as Jimmy Lunchbox, a child's performer. He made the best role in every film he did and he WILL be missed. I wouldn't recommend seeing this film, but if there's nothing on TV and that's on, Watch it. You might get a couple of laughs.

Because of all of the lousy reviews The Last Song was getting, I wasn't so excited to see this film. But my sister wanted to go so I said, What The Hell? And you know what, I actually enjoyed it! The Last Song is about Ronnie, a pre-college woman who goes with his brother to live with her divorced dad for the summer. Unfortunately, Ronnie hates her father because of the divorce. But the main passion they both care is the power of music. This will be a summer they won't forget. Miley Cyrus, of Hannah Montana fame doesn't give a Sandra Bullock, Blind Side role, but she still gives a performance that deserves recognition. Another preformance that could get some Oscar buzz is Greg Kinnear's role of Ronnie's dad. His performance can touch the hearts of a lot of people in the audience. I actually liked this a lot more than Nicholas Sparks' recent big screen adaptation, Dear John. I also want to point out that this film is intended for tweens over the age of 9. This film is an emotional, mildly dark, and humorous film that young Hannah Montana fans wouldn't get or they'd be upset to see A.) Miley Cyrus crying and being all emotional and B.) Miley Cyrus saying the word "bitch" which even though was intended for a laugh, parents would be angry and concerned. Luckily, my sister, who is 9 was mature enough to handle this movie. I was actually the only guy in the ENTIRE theater during my screening. In a way, I wasn't surprised about that because of Miley Cyrus. But people don't realize that Miley CAN act. Whether it's being a teen pop star or a gothic music loving teenager. I'd recommend checking this out, not because I'm saying that, but for the inner music and heart inside of you, kind of like August Rush, another music film. So what I'm saying is, go see or rent The Last Song. It is worth your extra $25.
